Hi Peggie,
Just purchased a new boat that comes with a Raritan SeaEra electric head. Unfortunately it is a seawater flush. I am aware that I can change to fresh water pressure, but I'm wondering if I can use the sink drain Tee method that I used on my last boat's manual head?
As I think about it, I would simply be diverting fresh water from the sink drain to the electric head's input pump, so I can't figure out why it would matter where the water source is coming from. The only thing I can think of is pressure? Would appreciate your thoughts on whether this is doable.
I have 101 G of fresh water and I would really like to flush with fresh water without spending more money on converting a brand new head system. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice!

Yep...you can. 'Cuz the toilet will still have to pull the water out of the sink drain line..it's just a different "thru-hull." And you can still use sea water to flush...just use the sink to flush all the sea water out of the system before the boat will sit...or once a day if you want to. IMO, filling the sink with water every time anyone needs to pee is a more of a PITA than it's worth...the ability to rinse out the system is what really matters.

Thank you! I thought so, but I couldn't find any information on this. I agree with you regarding the PITA for using the sink all the time, however having the flexibility to use either is a huge advantage in my opinion. Not only to keep the odors at bay on the input side of the system, but also to keep the fresh water from getting stale. As you've pointed out in previous discussions regarding the water tanks, it is better to keep the full and use the water. Thanks again!
