My 1979 H30 has round spreaders. As shown in the photo, it has cone shaped tips that are about 2-1/2" long. I bought some of those Taylormade padded fabric spreader boots and they don't work. The strap tightens around the taper and just slides loose. Are these tips designed to not use boots? Or will the classic rubber ones work on these tips?

The "classic" rubber spreader boots that I have tried don't work on my elliptical shaped spreaders. One size is too small, the other too large. I've never seen any made for round spreaders, but then I wasn't looking for them. I've been using rigging tape. To keep it from starting to unwrap after the first year, I finish it with a few knotted wraps of whipping twine.

Kito, I've been using 'Nylon Wheels' , not the name of the product which I've only bought twice in 37 years, but describes what they look like. They might be still available, but it may take some looking. Mine are taller and beefier than the pic I pulled off the internet, but you get the idea. They fit just below the spreaders.
