I guess its easier to blame the inanimate object for failure.

It was probably the first guy to coin the phrase "Strike three, yer out !"

Yeah! I should have put "Accident" in air quotes when I titled this thread.
That's really what I was thinking when I read the article, seems fairly predictable. If the autopilot turned to port instead of starboard he may have gotten away with it, he had a 50% chance.

Another incident to show that autopilot is different from "full self driving". Even Elon would probably tell you that.
Well it was pretty easy to hit the Ocean City beach. But Bermuda is going to be a bigger challenge!

This reminds me of a time fishing. The boat was a 30? runabout with big twins. Once we cleared the breakwater the owner throttled it up and set the AP. He then proceeded to walk about the boat. There were boats everywhere and we were flying. I sat close to the controls.
