Considering the eventual corrosive fate of the aluminum water tanks in our boats, has anyone ever installed a sacrificial anode rod into the tank to eliminate the corrosion? Is there any sacrificial metal that would be more sacrificial than aluminum??

Magnesium anodes would be worth a try. More anodic than aluminum.
Don't know how palatable the water would be.

Maybe you could install a water bladder inside the aluminum tank which would act as a liner. The wall structure of the tank would support the bladder.
I doubt seriously that you could stuff a bladder through 1/2" diameter fitting. Depending on how much access to the tank top, you could cut a hole and put it through there. Another possibility would be to cut an access and coat the tank interior and then make a bolt on tank cover with a gasket.
