Anne Miller's Vega story

Steven Birch,

I wanted to thank you again for putting me in touch with Anne Miller to
get permission to use a section from her out-of-print book "Out of the
Blue" in my anthology of sailing stories, which was just published by
International Marine/McGraw-Hill. It's the section where her Vega
suffers that disastrous knockdown that breaks out the window during her
transatlantic--and her coping with the aftermath. In the source credits
at the back of the book I managed to sneak in a mention of the Vega
Association of Great Britain and thanks to you.

The book is entitled Intrepid Voyagers: Stories of the World's Most
Adventurous Sailors. It's available via Amazon.com and hopefully will
also be in libraries (I'm trying to avoid shameless self-promotion!).

Are you still planning to reprint her story serially in your newsletter
for other Vega sailors?

Again, thanks! This is just one of the many ways you've helped out us
Vega sailors around the world!

Best wishes,
Tom Lochhaas

Tom,
Congradulations on the book. I really enjoyed Anne's book. The passage
you quoted was what convinced me to re-design Lyric's ports.
