Just got back from the show. Besides the 22 and 250, Catalina only had 3 boats in the water - the 355, 445, and the new 385. It isn't ready yet, but the next model will be the 325. The 309, 320, and 375 have all been discontinued. Catalina has really contracted their lineup, apparently catering to the current market (can't blame them for that), but their showing in Annapolis really seemed small compared to Hunter, Beneteau, Jeanneau, etc.

Overall a good show, though attendance seemed low compared to previous opening days. Beautiful weather!

Yeah, I really wanted to go, but the wife said we couldn't unless I found a hotel room to spend the night. I couldn't find a hotel within even 30 miles of Annapolis, cause there was also a Navy home game scheduled for Sat. Oh well, there's always next year. Mybe I'll have more $$ to spend then anyway.

I was there on Saturday. It was very crowded. I liked the new 385, and was surprised about the short lived 375. Either way, if I was upgrading again, I most likely would look for a C36 mkII at a good price. As I just finished my first season in a C27 TR, I will be waiting for awhile.

It's unfortunate that Catalina didn't have more boats available at the show. Must be a sign of the times. We were looking to buy a sailboat iln '05, and attended the Newport Boatshow and the St. Petersburg Boatshow. Catalina had quite a few boats at both shows, and we fell in love with the 310. We were fortunate to find a like-new used 310 through the St. Petersburg broker. I should think there would still be a market for boats in that size range. We sailed into Annapolis in '06 and realized we had missed the boat show by one day. It would have been nice to see the show, but I wouldn't want to try to get a mooring while the show was on!

My assumption is they need to have a limited number of current production models. I ws very surprised when the 355 came out right after 375. I guess it should have been clear both could not survive.
