Annapolis Sailboat Show ... is it on?

Beautiful days, beautiful boats ... it seemed like a pretty busy show but it was great to get around and visit as many boothes as caught our interest. Only bummer was driving back to our hotel on Friday night and Sue couldn't find our digital camera. So we checked in at the Boat Show office on Saturday morning and sure enough somebody had turned it in!
Overheard an interesting comment while waiting in line to get on a trawler (yea, I know, but the wife wanted to see what one looked like inside). The lady in front of us asked if this (60') boat would "get on plane? It was clearly a displacement boat but given her conversation not a bad question coming from her. The sales person did not know is what I found interesting. I asked several other sail boat sales persons the same question. One told me that their 50' displacement boat could get on plane if you had sufficient wind. Another said that theirs could if you got the option package for it!!!
It was a beautiful day but be careful about taking boat specs and performance info from these sales persons. they clearly just sell the things not sail them.

I was surprised at the turn out, I wonder how many came packing and left under contract? I Liked the new Catalina 355, very nice package beutiful interior, unlike the new Hunters use of interior laminates which seem very sterile and cold. They somehow tryed to get a European feel with the clean lines like a Hans, but fell way short.
Some of you may have noticed the head sink on the C355. It's one of those "European" designs with the bowl above the counter. Guaranteed to have water all over all of the time, plus it could break off. Oddest thing I've seen on a boat

She thought it was one of the stupidest thing she ever saw. I did not like that from the 350 to the 355 they got rid of the shower stall and went to a plastic curtain. Make the curtain shower on my 310 look like I got no reason to trade up.
