Hello TimR,
Welcome to the upper Chesapeake Bay. You might be just on the canal side of the RT 213 bridge at Chesapeake City if my guess is correct. A walk in South Chesapeake City is worth the time. Antique shops, restaurants, and the canal museum (weekends only, I think).
Annapolis......contact the harbormaster (channel 9, I think) and go beyond the Spa Creek bridge to the area by St Mary's if acceptable. Ask whether 40 ft boats can use those moorings. They will be the most calm in a breeze. You could anchor farther up that creek if you choose to skip the moorings. If you do not go there they might suggest Eastport moorings. Whitehall Creek is nice as an anchorage, but far from downtown. The Spa Creek bridge is on the hour and half hour in the summer maybe on request now.
If you need parts Bacon Associates is a long bike ride or a short taxi tide up past the Capitol complex and on out the street whose name I sadly forget.
Enjoy the city.
