Just a short story in hopes to lighten your day..... A few years ago, when we, The Wife & I, made the choice to give it all up and become cruisers, we had to face the fact the term used to identify people as us by Marinas was the name of TRANSIENTS. "Those moving through" Kinda sounded like we had a 53 chevy pickup with a mattress tyed to the top comming out from Oaklahoma. But thats the term used so we had to live with it.. And on our way south to Mexico, we stopped in Ventura for a few days where I visited the local Marine supply.. Beacon Marine, a nice little place above the marina. With an armful of goodies I proceeded to the counter and the cash regester. It was a long counter with a regester at each end, with one person standing behind. As I approched, he asked If I had an account with Beacon Marine, and my reply was NO SIR, not at this time.. HE motioned me to the other end of the counter and the other cash regester, stating that The cash regester I was standing at was for ACCOUNTS ONLY.. So As I Slid My Armfull Of Goodies Down The Counter To The Other End,I Realized That After Many Years Of Work And Preperation, We Have Now Become.. "NO-ACCOUNT TRANSIENTS"
