Anchoring in Lake Montauk

It's been a while since I've been there. In the past I have motored around the Montauk Yacht Club and dropped anchor. But I remember there were private property warnings starting to pop up around there. I'm planning an overnight stop over there next month. Any word?

just left yesterday after a week visit; used one of the MYC moorings. was just about to look into anchoring possibilities as well for next time as i saw a lot of anchored boats.

Ok, that's encouraging. Where were the boats anchored?

didn't go past myc on the boat so certainly could have been other areas but saw quite a few in the cove just south of star island road.. then a few at the south end (was at crow's nest)

I know that cove, I've anchored there but like I said it was a while ago and there were private property signs. But there also were a lot of people complaining. Maybe they've settled it. Good anchoring in that cove.
