I recently purchased a 1976 Pearson 26' and I had my anchor well cap kicked overboard one night. I haven't been successful at finding a replacement at my local retailers and I am now reaching out to you all for assistance.

Because I am still learning my boat terminology, I will explain a little more thoroughly what I mean by anchor well cap. It is the cap that goes over the hole where my anchor line goes into my bow for storage. It was a polished steel cap.

Rainy season is here in Miami and I really want to get this cap found. Any advice that anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My pearson did not have, nor did any that I have seen have a manufacturer installed pipe to the locker...I would check with after market dealers like west marine or others. You will most likely have to buy the whole unit as I have not seen the cap sold on it's own

Thanks for your response. I think my internet skills were up to par today and I was successful in finally finding a site that has these pipes. I also appreciate the educational terminology used. If anyone else has these issues, http://www.sailorsams.com/mall/deck_pipe.asp has a lot of these in their inventory.

Isn't that part called a 'hawser' or 'anchor hawse'?
Duct tape would have closed that hole temporarily if you don't mind cleaning up the adhesive residue later.
For things that don't move and should: WD-40
For that shouldn't move that do: Duct tape
Glad you found the part(s) you need.

Is it something that you can fabricate on your own. A lot of things like that you can make and sometimes the fabricated versions work better. Seems like a small chain or cord attached to it that is anchored to the boat may be a good idea.
