Anchor storage on c37

I just finished my upgrade to the anchor rollers as many of you have already done. My question is how do you secure the anchor while on the roller. I placed mine and it is heavy and wont stay on the guide. It wants to fall off the nose. Do I need to secure the anchor shaft. To something?? Maybe a line with a hook on the anchor chain secured to the samson post?? How do you keep the anchor on the roller without tipping over??

On my Kingston Plow (CQR copy) the hole on the stock, where the chain shackles on, is big enough to slip over one of the rods on the side of the samson post. Then I just lash it in place. The hole is kind of more like a slot on my anchor, so it fits, shackle and all. Its never been a problem. There is probably some fancy chock or something you can buy, but that would just mean more holes in the deck.

My anchor rode is all chain and goes over the gypsy on the windlass in the locker and down to the keel. I did not want the windlass to be holding the anchor so I installed a heavy hook at the back of the locker. I secure the chain there. But nothing wrong with some method of attaching to the sampson post.

What kind of anchor? The new gens have roll bars, I tie a line to it and installed a handy rail cleat on the pulpit.

I'm different. Very happy to have the windlass hold the anchor on the roller. Use a catamaran 2 line chain hook when at anchor to keep the strain off the windlass
