I'm still using the hook that came with the boat. It has held on several overnite trips in Chesapeake muk, and sand bottoms. The only time it didn't hold was a severe thunder storm when the wind clocked 180 degrees. What's the largest anchor that will fit in the anchor locker on the bow. Or did you forget the anchor locker and mount a larger hook on the bow pulpit?

The Bay is generally pretty easy anchoring and you probably don't need a very big anchor. I know lots of boats on the Bay don't carry much chain. Perhaps a longer length of chain would be a better solution for getting the anchor to reset with extreme wind shifts a tide changes. More scope might also be helpful if there is swinging room. I've got 15' of chain, just wandering if a bigger anchor will fit somewhere on the bow. Thanks

Sean; What size is the anchor. It should be plentiful but need to know. When setting an anchor for a hurricane, I drop the anchor and let out all the line for example on a 28, 20 feet of chain with 150 feet. I then back the boat to get the anchor to set. Make sure to back up with the anticipated wind direction. It has abeen some time but I hope you folks are enjoying your 240. Call me anytime my friend. Crazy Dave
