Has anyone fitted a anchor roller on a H26? What do you tie your anchor line to?

Bow Roller

We added a bow anchor roller to our Hunter 26. It's bolted on right where the original bow cleat used to be. The bow cleat had broken, so it was replaced by a pair of bow cleats positioned just like on the newer 260's, which we use with the anchor as well as at our slip. One big caveat: There are inspection plates in the anchor well behind which are the nuts for the cleats. Be sure the bolts are well sealed, and the inspection plates snugged down. If this is not the case, and the drain from the anchor locker becomes clogged with, say, Mississippi River mud, all sorts of water will come in around the V-berth area.

Hey Harvey

I've been trying to put a bow anchor roller on my 1996 H26. My CDI furler drum limits my installation possibilities. Do you have pictures you could post or e-mail to me of the installation? Perhaps I could come and see your boat. I'm in Saint Louis also. e-mail address morrison@stlnet.com "Festivity" 1996 H26

It's tilted, like that tower in Italy...

No photos right now -- and it's a bit chilly to go running around with a camera. The anchor roller doesn't go straight out. It's at a 30 degree slant from fore and aft. Hope that helps. And I'd love to get together & swap sailing stories!
