Would like to add a roller on my H26. Picture in forum doesn't come up on my computer. Which roller works on this boat with the standard anchor that comes with the boat? All help appreciated.
Mine is too short to hold the anchor, the flutes will hit the boat. I was thinking of trying to find one that is longer or extending this one my self.Brad
This is a picture of a roller on a friend's H26. He told me it required some custom glasswork, to build an extended platform at deck level under the roller. It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but it looked to me like it came that way from the factory.
Seems as though the ring hanging from the roller is setting on the rub rail. If you pulled the anchor up with this, the flukes would carve a pretty line all the way up the bow. How does your friend use it?
Look in the photo form under "Bahamas 260 improvement"The anchor roller I did on my 260 works GREAT, I had to do some glass work but it turned out, any questions just ask
I was curious as to why you had to do glas work? Was it for cosmetics or was structurarly(sp?) important? I was just thinking of removing the one I have alomg with the crome or polish finish and then adding x amount of length and having it repolished to a nice sine. Any reason I cant do this? Just curiousThanksBrad
Bow shape not the same on the older 26. I remeber seeing the tilting roller in the WM Catalog. Is it effective in keeping the anchor from hitting the bow? Seems that the flat section of the anchor "handle" would be perpendicular to the rollers platform. Does the anchor try to roll on it's side when underway? Your not using a windless, are you? As I remeber, WM wants almost $200 for that unit.
I made the channel width almost 6 inches wide, that required me to cut into the molded toe rail 3 inches. Than filled in the cut with body filler and the finished off with 2 part white epoxy, it match up well. My anchor roller is 5.5 inches wide and as you see from the pictures it stickes out and I have no problem bringing and stowing the anchor in the roller
