I just bought a Vision 32 and the anchor roller is shot. It appears that the shaft it rolls on is welded into its frame. How does one replace the roller?

Any idea what brand it is or can you post a photo?

Just off the top of my head based on what you've said, I guess my approach might be to hack the roller and shaft off (sawzall?); drill a new set of holes; install new roller with a nut and bolt setup.

I don't have a Hunter but I've seen one on TV...

Is it welded or just frozen in place? A good whack with a heavy ball-pin hammer may loosen it. If not you could drill a hole into the shaft's ends to weaken the material enough to hammer it out. Replace the shaft with a lag bolt and retainer nut.

Probably a better idea.

Alternatively, get a new delrin roller, cut into half length wise and secure the two halves to the "welded" rod. Have to use alittle imagination on how to secure the two halves, but its doable.

from the looks of the second pic you can drill that out and replace the roller and a new bolt and locking nut
