I have a Hunter 34 and typically anchor with a Bruce anchor, 30 feet of chain and a 250 foot nylon rode. When I bought my boat, the top of the anchor roller was open, and I was concerned about rough waves causing the anchor line to jump off the roller at some point. I was able to find a S/S boom bail that exactly fit between the holes at the forward end of the roller (normally used for an anchor locking pin). I now have the rode firmly trapped so that should it leave the roller, it won't be able to jump out because of the bail, and will settle back onto the roller. I'm just curious, do most of you remove the rode from the roller and use another cleat for attaching the anchor in rough weather? Is locking my anchor line in the bow roller a good idea or a bad idea? Many thanks for all the great advice here. Gary
