Anchor Roller Help

I just got a anchor roller from Hunter for my 98 h240. In the archives crazy dave said there is a plate behind the fiberglass just tap and bolt. Should I remove the front bulkhead and put on the supplied nuts and washers? If so, I can only see two screws at the bottom of the bow bulkhead is that all thats holding it? This roller is short. How much should I hang the roller over the rubrail?

Anchor roller

We have a h23 and I put a short roller on the bow and it only goes past the bow an inch or two. We mostly anchor for lunch on day sails so I didn't need much We spend about a week a year camping on it so this should be enough to keep it from rubbing the the boat and should make it a little easier to get it up. I used the bolts that held the bow pulpit in place and the back two holes lined up and I drilled new holes in the roller and then sealed it all up. It raised the pulpit up just a little bit in the front but it seems to be ok. There was a backing plate in this area and I just went and got a little longer bolt. I am having a couple of things done by a boat yard and they said if you have to access this area which on ours has an anchor locker here to drill a hole and reach through and then put a plate over the hole to seal it up. I am going to have to do that to get to the bolts on the rest of the pulpit. Rob MortonS/V Euphoria

There is an aluminum plate that generally runs the length of the flat surface. Usually, I will pre drill with a small bit to see if I do hit the metal. If you do, then drill and tap. Make sure you caulk very well.
