This issue comes up with great regularity here (not to mention the USENET boards and the CWBB). So, if you really want to have access to the maximum amount of information -- rather than to rely upon the opinion of two or three people who can suppress their yawns long enough to write it all down once again -- just type the words "anchor riding sail", select "match all words" and you should get about 73 responses from between 1999 and 2002. Rigging an anchor riding sail
I checked the archives as Henk suggested. What wasn't entirely clear is how the anchor riding sail is rigged. I know I would attach it to the topping lift (no backstay). I can figure out a way to fasten it to the end of the boom, and suspect I can use the main halyard for the upper point of attachment on the topping lift, but where do you tie off the foot of the sail at the front? Anyone have a description, or even better a picture of how their anchor riding sail is rigged? Thanks, Marc

Testing Phil's ampersand problem
Let me try to post a link to a USENET (i.e. rec.boats.cruising) database on riding sails. In the past this would not work due to the fact that Phil's software could not deal with the common "ampersand" sign, (e.g. in the Boolean logic code of some search engines).
