anchor locker problem

I cleaned out my anchor locker and found big pieces of styrofoam in the bottom that looked like they were put in to stop chain falling a long way but wonder if this is OEM. It' s on a 40.5 Legend It is a big chain locker tho..

Not in mine. But maybe they were put in to raise the chain above the locker drain so it wouldn't sit in water.
