I was wondering if any one else has this issue or can suggest a way for me to fix it...

I have a 2000 Hunter 290 and my anchor locker leaks into/below my v-berth. Basically, the drain for my anchor locker is about 5" from the floor of the locker and it holds water. Over 12 years of this happening water has found a way through the layers of cloth and wood. At this point nothing is rotten, so I think sealing the inside of my locker could work. What can I use to do this? Should I put in a new drain at the base of the locker at the same time? Adding another through hull always scares me, but might need to be done. This new through hull would be about 8-10" above the water line. Any and all input would be great!

Thanks, Beau

Are you saying that the locker will hold 6" of water before it starts flowing out of the drain?

My H280 locker holds a little later at the front, but maybe only 1/2" at the deepest level. My rode is green where it ties off there, but 6" sure seems like something's wrong.

Yes, it holds 6" of water before it reaches the drain level! Crazy design. I think resealing it and adding a new drain through hull is what I need to do. This is a bigger first projerct than I would have wanted to tackle, but oh well!
