...mine is flat and everything sits on that surface ropes, chain, anchors and all else that may be stowed in there . I am wondering what everyone is doing about that condition ...it seem to impede the water draing to the scupper holes in the locker thus letting everything stay wet a lot longer than i would like ...do you put a grate on the bottom to elevate the contents either wooden or those plastic ones i see in the west store or what do you use .....i am thinking about making some out of cypress and putting them in the bottom of the locker what do you use? and how does it work for you/ are you happy with what you use.......

thanks in advance.....

My H23 had rubber honeycomb-shaped matting. Seed to work.

I built up the bottom with...

My anchor locker floor is a small triangle shaped area both looking down at it and if you were able to look at the bottom's aft shape, due to the shape of the bow. I got several of those dry-deck tiles (see link) and, with a fair amount of trial and error, zip-tied a triangle shaped block that created a flat floor of the anchor well raised up above the side drain hole. I did have to put a center brace tile in so that it supports the two 70' long piles of anchor chain for my two anchors. It also allows the water to drain freely enough that debris doesn't clog the hole. I'm sure you could work up something to fit your locker. Good luck, Mulf

use a couple sections of dry-dek material... it can be found at most marine stores and can easily be cut to shape and snapped together to create better drainage and some ventilation under the nylon rode... or under foot in the cockpit.

I got some used 2" styrofoam pieces from a contractor working at our Marina. I put a few odd shaped chunks in the bottom of the locker. It keep it all up high and dry. It has been working for 3 years that way. I like to rise all the salt away when I can. Locker drains well and it all dries up in no time.

Four of those interlocking rubber Dri-Dek panels cover the bottom of my anchor locker. Got them at WM. Think they were around $6 or $7 each.

WM = WalMart? :laugh:
I can't afford Worst Marine!
Yes ggrizzard, sorry. WM would be my local West Marine store. Apparently the only one in the country with an outstanding manager, if one took seriously the recurrent WM bashing we see here.:naughty: If you have a less expensive source for this material, please share it. :D
