Hi - Here is what my anchor line looks like (when it's not wrapped around headstay :)) What is purpose of the flat section coming out of anchor locker? Thanks.

Thanks for all the replies. That helps a lot. I should have said rode around stem fitting instead of headstay - that would be a disaster. I will do as suggested during next off season. Where do you tie off? It seems like best place would be inside the anchor locker but there is no cleat in there. Seems like the rode needs to run straight back or do you still use bow cleat? Will the 240 roller work for the 23.5?

A little off topic but still related... you asked where do you tie off. I used to use my winch to raise the anchor.... and then just started keeping my anchor on the stern pulpit. I ran the rode to the bow eye and could deploy and retrieve from the safety of the cockpit as I entered a cove. You can see my anchor in the pipe that is clamped to the stern rail.... and the line that is coiled up on the fishing rod holder is my anchor rode. If you look carfully, you can see the anchor rode going forward from the the coiled line. I also had 10' of chain stuffed in that black pipe.

The picture he sent had the centerboard line running thru a fixed can cleat to a swivel cam cleat. Advised to run the line thru swivel cam cleat and then check the throw of the centerboard to hear the klunking sound when cb goes down and bac up. He is to call back this weekend
