I've encountered a loss of power to the anchor light. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem and what circumstances it entailed. I have power from the circuit box to apparently the mast but it doesn't make it up to the top of the mast. Anyone had problems with this ? My conclusion is to unstep the mast and rewire, hope someone has a magic answer for me.

Bulb?

Have you tried testing the bulb? I know this sounds silly, but I once took apart an entire garbage disposal before realizing the thing wasn't plugged in.. You can use a voltmeter to tell if the wiring is intact, but first go back up there and replace that bulb, and inspect the fixture for corrosion. MC

Have you checked the votage where the wires come into the light fixture. It might be that one of the contacts of the fixture is corroded and not conducting the ground and or the voltage. Wish you luck

Suggestion, I've been there

My problem was in the connector at the base of the mast where the connection is made to the boat harness. If you happen to have an early h34 with the large black mast base you can easily remove the sheaves. Then you can access the plug and replace without pulling the mast. If you happen to have a newer h34 without that base, check the bulb and then get your checkbook. You may need to pull the mast. Make the best of it and check the compression post while it down.
