I have a 1987 Catalina 22 and the anchor light has burned out. I can't find what light to purchase. I would perfer not to have to go up the mast more than once.

Tim; Drop the mast and use this as an opportunity to thoroughly check the mast head. You'll probably need to clean/replace the light socket anyway.

Perko makes an almost exact replacement

It is a 2nm all-around. I'll see if I can find the part number, but I found it at West Marine.

Catalina Direct sells it -- the light depends on

the year of your boat... Good sailing, Brad

Use a ladder.

Tim: I use a 24 foot extension ladder to climb to the top of the mast, its just as easy as climbing up to the roof of your house. Tie your halyard to the top rung of the ladder and place the base of the ladder on the cabin top and tie it off to the grab rails than snug up and cleat the halyard. Now you are ready to take the easy way to the top of the mast. It's hard to tell which bulb to buy since most C22's came from the factory without anchor lights, meaning your light could be any style.
