anchor light 81 33 hunter

1981 hunter 33,,,anchor light is out,,need to ascend mast to change,,,would liike to do it in one trip,,,anyone know what type bulb goes in original fixture? I'm changing to led,,,just want to go up once,,,,hopefully. I've looked on computer but can't find info.,,,[also not so good on this computer thing]. PLEASE HELP!! If you can tell me,,,the first round is on me!

Photos (telephoto) of your mast head including the light fixture would be helpful. My 81 H27 had an original Perko fixture but your H33 might be different. Chances are good your fixture may have been replaced along the way.

I do not trust the 32 year-old rigging on my boat to support my weight... I also need to do some work at the top of the mast, but I think I will have the mast pulled and replace the sheaves,etc . After that, I will ascend for future tasks. Ed H

Think you are going up twice. You really need to pull the original bulb. Probably it is an offset bayonet like on my 1979 H37C. This is the bulb I installed this spring: http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|65136|296901|1249269&id=1212927 .

Or you can buy that bulb ahead of time, and just maybe it will fit. If not, return it and up you go again. Ed H
