Has anyone used one of those inexpensive dansforth "hanger brackets" on the front of their 23? The kind I am referring to are 2 small brackets, one on either side of the running light clamped to the bow rail. One of the brackets has a release, the other has a hole that the fluke pivot rod slides into. Sorry to be so wordy, but I don't know how elso to explain the contraption. Anyway, does it interfere with the running light? I realise there is an anchor storage locker, but as we know, it is kind of a pain to drag the thing out, and put it back. Thanks for your inputs in advance!

Yes and it was a great BRAKE

Each time the anchor fell off, hit bottom, and brought the boat to a sudden halt...after a wild round up. I sent it to my scrap heap.

As a follow up to Dans question , I have wondered about that same bracket , almost bought one, since that one does not work, what do people use, ?

Thanks for the info. In spite of the anchor cutting loose, did it interfere with the running light, or anything else for that matter?

There is one that attaches to the front stantion.

My H26 came with one that you insert the square plate piece on the back of the anchor into a bracket that attaches to the stantion. I don't think they cost moe than 30 bucks or so. Easy to release the anchor and has never fallen off on it's own yet.

anchor bracket works

I had one on my 23 for 17 years and it worked great... it needs to be installed correctly - don't leave a lot of extra room for the anchor to work back and forth.... it needs to be locked - I used a piece of 1/4 inch line on the opening side to lock it.... the anchor shaft needs to be secured. i used another light line to tie the anchor to the bow pulpit. Like I said - 17 years -no problems - easy to use (untie two slippery knots and drop anchor) Bill Murray Good Faith h29.5
