Vic,
On my original C-22 I had the anchor mounted on the bow pulpit, see the attached pictures. This style allowed me to also use the anchor mount to hold the mast while trailering. I made a bracket that held a rubber "V" block. I had about 6' of heavy chain attached to the anchor, and the other end I attached a strong galvanized hook that I kept attached to the bow eye. I would drape the excess chain around the anchor to keep it from banging around. The rode I kept in the rear locker and when needed, attached it to the chain hook. Worked GREAT for many years. I did the similar thing with my Capri-18, photo also attached that shows the anchor hanging off the bow pulpit. The mounts run around $50., Google Danforth Anchor Mount and look at the pictures. I looked in the WEST marine catalog and didn't see them anymore listed.
This sure keeps them handy to get to, and keeps corrosion to a minimum, and I never had the jib or jib sheets get hung up on the anchor.
