We sailed on Friday last week, in some 25-30 Knot winds, sailing under main alone, with no problems whatever. Our H34 sails flat and is stable, but slow, sailing that way. We sailed about 6 miles, beating into the wind, had a great time,we followed that with a very nice 7plus knot downwind run towards home. We then began to tack upwind again when the main I bought last season quickly popped out of the sail track!! That is something I don't want to ever experience again! with the main attached only on the top and bottom, that is a lot of sail to try and get down and under control while the wind is doing it's best to whip it around! Seems the sailmaker fitted the wrong size slugs, I fixed the problem with a quick trip to West Marine, no damage done, just a few moments of sheer terror!
