Can anyone tell me the reallistic capacity in Amp Hours that a small A/B conversion system in a top loading ice box would consume in a day? I will be feeding the system with between 2 to 4 6 volt commercial golf cart batteries making 12 volts, and I hope between 350 to 500 A.H. totall capacity. How about keeping up with that load?? What combination of wind/solar would do it? Thanks!! Paul Reason

keeping up

If there is such a thing as an average, I tell everyone to expect a draw between 40 and 50 amps over 24/hrs. This requires a well ventilated condensing unit, an average of 3 inches of insulation in a refrigerated box with normal "traffic" and good seals on the lid(s). More insulation, less amps. Less insulation, more amps... It's also very important to select the correct size evaporator. Undersize the evaporator and you will pay the price.
