The last two times we have sailed, I have been getting the audible alrm comming on when we come in to the mooring. It only happens at lowest rpms- about 500 on the tach. the alrm goes away when the RPMs are increased even 1-200 rpms. My thought is that the RPMS are just too low- If I adjust the idle speed up just a bit am i ignoring something more serious? I have checked the oil and it is still up to the top. I changed it this spring- and have only put about 10 hours on since then. Suggestions? and thanks

Engine idle is too slow

At 500 rpms the engine is about to stall out. My guess is that the oil pressure is not sufficient at 500 rpms. The engine should idle at about 800rpms. If I understand your question raising the RPM to 800 should solve the audible alarm problem.
