AMF Alcort Puffer sailboat value question

I am a new owner of a used AMF Alcort Puffer sailboat. It is used, but I do not know its age. Everything is in good to very good condition. Would anyone know its value?Thank you so much. Paula

Paula,I mentioned my Puffer to a gentleman that owns a Marina; are you sitting down...He says they are worth three (3) to five (5) thousand dollars.Apparently, there is starting to be a pretty good market for them now.David

David, I think you have been mislead. Checking the internet on Ebay past items, Craigslist, and Sailing Texas ad board the average selling price for a Puffer in the last two years has been $400 to $800. Some higher some lower depending on if a trailer is involved and the boat's condition. Not one ever approached 3K let alone $5K. Either your informant is thinking of something completely different or just not up with the times. The Puffer was only about $2800 new when it was in production. Today $3-$5K would buy 4 times that boat in quality and performance brand new.

I bought a used Puffer several weeks ago, also in good to very good condition. Looks like these boats were built in the 70's. I paid $750 (sans trailer) for mine. I saw one listed on the web for $900 w/ trailer, so now you have two data points!
