Has anyone used the "American Boat Listings" service to buy/sell a boat. I am considering using them to sell my Hunter 28.5 and am trying to determine what type of success rate they have. Thanks in advance for any feedback, Mike

Why do you try here first.

Mike: Why don't you try advertising it here first. Good way to try to save the 10% brokerage commission. Everyone knocks you down at least 10% on your asking price and then you give the broker another 10%. There is a good Hunter following in the Great Lakes area so I would assume that it should be easy to sell.

No luck

I listed a MacGregor 22 with them a couple of years ago, and it cost me $125.00. The representative who called me was more interested in my credit card number than the details of the boat - and the listing had an error in it. No calls, no luck. I wound up selling the boat myself. There are more people using the Internet now than there was back then. Perhaps I was ahead of the game a little, but I'd try elsewhere before using them again.
