Well we got out for our second time this year and I'm being more and more convinced that we need to dry store our boat or get a slip. Beautiful day here in Kansas and planning to hit the lake early. Got over there and while raising the mast the first time a wind gust came up and we lost her. Two rivets broken on the starboard spreader. Luckily I keep a handy supply of rivets so we fixed it. The next time it the stern stay got hung up on the OB and broke two rivets on the PORT spreader. More rivets but third time's a charm. Up she goes, we rig up and on the lake.
A grand day and no more problems (other than too many French toast for breakfast and had to break in the brand new port-a-pottie which is very cozy on an O'd 20!). Wind died off in the afternoon so we had to use Mr. Johnson and his four horses but all in all a great day.
I hope yours was as great as ours.
God's blessings and happy sailing.

Oday 272 Brownstown, MI - Lake Erie Metro Park Marina
$50 to $100 for good bottom paint; plus $$/month (or season) and you'll love the experience. Marinas are exciting and fun but private docks can provide good value.
Sailing is the journey, Enjoy the Water...
