Hi Peggy, Just to let you know we bought the Stinkpot Joelle and you climed about when it was on the hard. Now we are deep in the process of cleaning her up. As you can guess, almost 2 yeas of non use there is a lot to clean. Which comes to my topic,/question The water tank is alumn. It has been sitting partially full for 2+ years. "Stuff has been growing in it. Is it acceptable to shock the sys with bleach, and if so for how long. Unfortuantely we don't has an access plate (yet) which to open to take a look into the tank and clean it out. Good to see you again during the Chesapeake Hunter Rendezvous. Hope everything is going well. Mark

Congratulations!

She's a VERY nice boat...I think you and Joelle will really enjoy it! I'll be at the Annapolis show in October, so I hope I won't have to wait for the next Rendevous to see it in the water. Follow the directions in my book to recommission the fresh water system...you might have to do it twice to clean it out completely. It's VERY important that you do NOT leave the solution in the system longer than the recommended time...'cuz bleach is corrosive...and after 24 hours, any purifying properties in chlorine evaporate, leaving only the corrosive properties in the tank. We'll prob'ly need to discuss the sanitation system too, 'cuz it'll need some attention after sitting that long. Give me a shout when you get that far.
