What can be used to remove deposits and keep them from reforming on aluminum water tanks. The deposits are a scaling of some sort that may be calcium build-up. We have treated the tanks with Trac Ecological Potable Water Scale Remover. This removed the scales but didn't keep them from growing back within a years time. The tanks were installed in 1993 when the boat was new. Would be a large project to remove and replace.

The solution to your problem is obvious

If the scale is caused by minerals are in your water, they'd prob'ly also build up in new tank. So if the scale remover you used works, it's obviously a job that needs to be added to your list of annual spring recommissioning projects.

sediment in Aluminium water tanks

It is most likely caused by the chlorine found in the local tap water...it reacts (corrosively) with the aluminium.
