Aluminum vs Chrome Bronze Winches

I want to change my primary winches to Lewmar 30 self tailing. The existing winches are standard Lewmar 30's. Is there any difference between the performance of the two types of material? The weight difference makes me lean toward the aluminum. Price is also a consideration.
