The aluminum door hinges and cockpit teak strips on our 1993 35S5 need attention. Has anyone found easy-to-fit stainless replacement hinges for the 35S5 or similar models? And has anyone replaced the teak strips on a 35S5 with material that might be a bit cheaper than the $53 per 2 meter material offered by Beneteau USA? Thanks.

Teak is Teak

Terrence-- Check around and you will fine a better price and very good quality teak. Find a cabinet maker and they can make you some from teak stock. A good cabinet maker should also be able to either buy the stock for you to tell you where to get it. If you feel confortable you can do it yourself or you can hire an expert. Either way I think you should be able to find a better deal. Good Luck. --Dan

An alternitive to teak

I am planing on replacing the teak strips on my cockpit seats with a product called Flexiteek. It is a plastic product that looks like teak with black bedding compound between the seams. I have been testing a section for the last year and have been happy with the color retention and wear. Here is the link for the company. http://www.flexiteek.com/
