Alternator

I have a Johnson 7.5hp with an alternator. The two wires (black @ white)run inside the hull and stop. Do I connect them to the battery, black on neg. or is there anything else I need to do?

Alternator Hook Up

I had the exact same motor on a Catalina 25 I owned.The alternator wires went to a "block" inside a lazerette which also had attached to the block wires from the battery(s). Black to Black and red to red.Make sure you use a block so that you could easily remove the motor alternator wires from the block without having to distrube the battery wires to the block.
