I am upgrading my standard 51 amp alternator on my Universal 25 to a Powermax 80amp. Previously I upgrade the alternator bracket with the new mounting bracket to prevent cracking on the engine casing. My problem now is that the fan on the new alternator is about 1/2 inch wider in diameter and the arm for the bracket doesn't clear the fan. Has anyone run in to this problem? If so how did you solve it?
