This boat has a Volvo MD-17C engine with a 35a alternator driven with what looks like a 3/8" belt around the big flywheel. Has anybody with this engine ever have the flywheel machined to take a 1/2" belt to drive a bigger alternator? Any other ideas? I also thought of a separate drive pulley off the front of the flywheel, but that is a lot of moment in the front of the engine. Or, any experience with ~80a alternator with a 3/8 belt?
