I recently was shown an awesome little way to play my ipod that is inexpensive but great sound. Not only that, but it is run on batteries that last a long time. I have a spectacular Bose docking station but it is cumbersome compared to this little dream!
My brother in law was so excited about this, and told me he paid $33 at Amazon. I ordered it and paid $23. I recently decided to get another as a gift and paid $18!! It uses 3 AAA batteries and last 24 hours with excellent sound. It is capable of being very loud without any distortion that I noticed. It compares in sound quality to my Bose DS, it is that good.

I have read some posts recently from those with problems deciding where to install speakers and this is a great temporary fix OR a wonderful option. Except for wanting to still play my CD's and the occasional radio station, I think I would opt for using this if we did not have a good installed system already. I have the IM237 and there is IM227 but I don't see what the difference is. IM237 is wonderful.

Check out Altec Lansing "InMotion" series of speakers...

They have a whole serie of 'em...Cordless rechargeable, available from Amazon. I have one...love it!

Luz, there's a VERY simple solution to your CDs...copy 'em all into iTunes. Now you can play 'em on your iPod. That's what I did.

When I renovated the greatroom in my house, I bought a new "home theatre" speaker system...I was ADAMANT that it had to have both an iPod dock and a 5-6 CD/DVD player. I do play movie DVDs on it, but in 3 years I've yet to put a music CD in it 'cuz they're all on my iPod now. Any new ones (I don't buy CDs any more, but I do borrow from friends) just get uploaded to iTunes and onto the iPod.

Peggy, Most of my CD are mixes I have made from my iTunes but I still like to just stick one in and have it repeat until I am sick of it ! Also, our Tahoe is '05 and they did not add an Mp3 jack so CD are a must there. I like using both, and I am a big gifter to my friends of music mixes just for them, so I still have a large need for them. Also, I found that when I plug in my ipod to our system on the boat, I lose the ability to work from my ipod (like changing from Shuffle songs to Playlists or Artist. I have to unplug it, change it, and then plug back in........so that is not as convenient.
Nevertheless, these portable speakers are amazing aren't they!!
