only one day to go and I'm on a week long vacation, going to be spending that time to work on the boat, inside and outside, hopefully the weather will cooperate and not be too hot like this week, going to be a busy week as I have the floors and sole to make, the dinette settees to rebuild, I need to remove the thru hulls to replace them, start sanding and prepping the hull to fair and paint, next looking at how to redo the quarter berth and galley (might remodel the galley a little). wish me luck, I'm going to need it.

How much of that work can you do at anchor waiting out a storm?

pack your tools carefully and go sailing

I'm in dry dock this year :(
so that leaves me more time to work on her
next year I should have her in the water, next week's vacation time will help me get her back in shape, and I have the help of one of my cabinet maker friend for a few days

so I spent the morning on the boat, so far the floors have been cut and the mating surface has been ground down, now to clean it up and epoxy (six 10) them in place. While I was working inside my son and his friend were busy sanding the hull, still a bit to do and needs a good cleaning, now it's lunchtime and we took that time for a good shower, after lunch we're going back to clean up the bilge and install the floors. Tomorrow we'll be installing the new settees and glassing them in place.
Pics to come

so here's an update, I completed the floors, just need to glass them over, finished the basic layout of the sole and painting the bilge, the settees are done, just waiting on the glue to dry, probably going to stain them teak coloraturas and oil them.

the sole just needs scarfing the edges to mate with the hull shape. then a few coach of oil on the top and epoxy on the bottom.

Vacations are over but I still have time to work on the boat, here is what it looks like after a solid weekend of work.

Looking good Fred. Your first overnight will be epic.

If you are looking for a quick way to spruce up some of the raw fiberglass areas... I like the idea of using carpet tiles.

These are water repellent (exterior grade) and if you alternate the pattern, it looks intentional and you don't have to worry about seems.
