Finally getting caught up enough to start getting the boat ready to launch. One of the things I like about our Hunter 20 is that with a few mods at the end of the year she goes right in one of the bays in our garage.
I wanted to use the front hitch on my Kubota to move her out but luckily I stopped and thought long enough as to why she fit in the garage. I had been using the rear hitch on my old Wheel Horse to spot her in the garage. The ball on that hitch is only 8 ½ inches off the ground. Had I used the ball on my normal front hitch I would have ripped the bow pulpit off.
After some measuing I needed a hitch that had 13 inches of drop. Out came the chop saw and welder.
A little while later Tigger is ready to pull the boat out. Only going to use this hitch around the house so no need to re enforce it with angle pieces in the corners.
Amazing how many welding projects a sailboat has created. Between lengthing trailer tongues, building trailers, motor stands, etc, sailing has made a lot of Sparks fly in the garage.
