Hello,
I have done fairly extensive research on where to have the exhaust exit on my 79 H30 re-power from the Yanmar YSM12 to a Nanni 3.21. I have found no data that indicates there should be any issues with leaving the exhaust exit where it it. It is currently in the hull very near the stern and I measured the thru-hull distance above the water and it measures 7 1/4 inches. I will also have a goose-neck with the hose nearly vertical an roughly 20 inches above the waterline. So it looks as if it will remain the same as it has been, and I expect no issues. My understanding is ABYC calls for the fitting to be near the hull and stern joint and 3 to 6 inches above the waterline. Anyone here believe leaving it where it is to be a bad idea? If so, I'd be interested in hearing why.
Kind regards,
Bob
