Well, our new Hunter 380 wasn't quite ready yet (canvas being finished), so we took my brother-in-law and his family down to the boat just to "dry sail". The kids got a kick out of all the hatches and gadgets, while we just walked around on the deck dreaming of sailing our new baby. We definitely got some weird looks from the other boaters, but who cares ? This coming Monday, we take delivery of Roughin' It and then it's off to San Diego Bay for some real sailing. All-in-all, it wasn't the worst way to spend Labor Day weekend.

spoil our weekend on the Chesapeake. We headed out early Sat. AM with friends, intending to explore the Chester River. A wild ride down the Bay made us decide to put into Bodkin Creek so as to not have to a really long beat back home on Monday. Riding out the squalls at anchor Saturday & Sunday was made quite pleasant as our friends have completely enclosed their cockpit with clear plexi curtains that zip onto the bimini. We were warm and dry as buckets of rain poured down upon us. Sunday afternoon we launched the kayaks & paddled around Bodkin Creek in the cool after the rain. Delightful! Sunday the clouds cleared and we had a leisurely reach back to Middle River. Storm??? What storm!
