I am seriously considering buying a 37.5 from the early 90's(I have just started looking) and would like to know from all you present 37.5 owners how your boats have held up and what particular things are problems, especially if they are common with that model. Thanks

Hi Paul, did you read the reviews on this...

site? A good source for current 37.5 performance data. Terry

Hi, Paul, I own a 1991 37.5 . . .

I bought the boat in 2000, and I am the 3rd owner. Either the first or second owner took very good care of this boat, she is in excellent condition and very well equipped when we got her. She came with: dual batts, GPS, Loran, Radar, am/fm/tape, vhf, wind, speed, depth, with repeater at nav station. 3 burner sfae-gas stove w/ oven etc... Since we got her we have added: coil spring mattresse's fore and aft, chartplotter, RAMMIC in cockpit, Microwaveoven, 12 CD changer, and oh yes very cool, a flat screen TV (our marina has cable, so we use it a lot). She still has the original sails, a 135% roller furling genoa, and a full battened main w/ dutchman system. We have just ordered a Fairclough cover for the boat since we winter in the water. Our next upgrade will probably be new sails with some kind of mast track system, and maybe a Genaker (next year ?). We absolutly love the boat. Everything on the boat installed by Hunter, but not made by them is name brand, and found on most other production boats. Although we have sailed before, this is the first sail boat we have owned. For the previous 30 years we had owned 8 power boats, ranging in size from 17ft to 36 ft. the Hunter quality is as good as any boat we have owned before. We love the way she sails (remember we were power boaters), although she seems a little limited downwind because of the swept back spreaders can't let the main out as much. under power she handles very well, and is quite predictable, with the big rudder, docking in is easy in almost any condition. Hope this helps. If you have specific questions let me know. Chris S/V Tidesong

Terry,I read the reviews....

But some of them are rather old and right after people bought their boats.I am interested in seeing how the 375 has held up over the years and specifically how the hull holds up.The resin used in the early 90's is alot different then construction today.I will probably buy an older boat as opposed to a newer one purely for financial reasons. Thanks for the reply

My 37.5

Mine is a 1996 model, one of the last to come off the line. Boat has been superb in every respect. Only a few problems (head, radio, a/c pump, none of which are made by Hunter) since I bought her. She sails great and is super for weekends or week outings. The only unhappiness that I have experienced is that the corian developed a crack after about 5 years. May have happened coming off a large wave in bad weather. Have not yet been able to get it fixed. Otherwise, I have been very pleased with the boat and dealer/Hunter after sales service. Don't think you will be disappointed.
