2006 Hunter 33 Santa Barbara
I've always had a problem with green slimy algae growing underneath the rub rail on my 2006 Hunter 33.

On the shady side of the boat when in the slip, the algae grows at such a rate that I have to brush and rinse it off every few weeks in the summer. It grows mainly under the rubrail, but today I went to the boat for the first time in a few weeks and it was also oozing up in the space between the rubrail and deck. It's VERY ugly and I don't see other boats in the harbor with the same problem.

Anybody got any suggestions on how to eliminate? I suspect bleach would kill it, but I'm nervous about bleach spoiling the hull finish. Also, the rubrail does seem to fit the hull well, so even liberal dousing with bleach may not get enough in to do the job.

Clean it, clean it, clean it. Then wax it, Collinite Fleetwood.
