Has anyone seen or own a Catalina 30 or any Catalina that came with a gimbaled alcohol stove cabinet. I have seen pictures searching on origo alcohol stoves with this cabinet in a Catalina 30. The cabinet fits right where a propane oven/ stove would go. It has a stainless steel lined shelf the stove sits in and drawers underneath all made out of teak. The entire unit gimbals like a stove/ oven would do. I am looking for one of these for my boat. Any info will help thanks. Happy Sailing

I would contact Catalina Yachts for these type of items that were made by Catalina, specifically for the C 30 (not Catalina Direct - which is an independent company). They keep a lot of older C 30 parts on the shelf & I hear that their prices are very comptetive.
They sold different configurations of the stove. One had a 2 burner Seaward stove with oven that was popular. They also sold just a 2 burner stove top only, which had drawers installed beneath it to fill up the space where the oven would take up. I hear that Kent has retired from Catalina who was a great source there. Not sure who has taken his place.
Good luck.

How do you like that setup? does your cabinet have a lot of swing when gimbaling? Do you like your origo stove?
Thanks.

I had a metho stove with the same set up as you are talking about. I found it hard to light and it burned too cold. I threw it all out and installed a butane gas oven, grill and stove. Alot of work and $ but alot happier with that arrangement.

Honestly we usually only cook on the boat in the summertime, & heat in the cabin is the last thing that you want to add to. So we use a Magma propane type grill mounted on the stern rail in the cockpit. It dows a pretty good job, gets hot & the fumes & heat & potential fire hazard are all leftout of the cabin. 4 good reasons to use the Magma grill: no heat, no fumes, no grease & no fire hazards in the cabin. My 2 cents.

We have the two burner origo alcohol stove ... It replaced the original pressured alcohol stove that came from Catalina... The boat also came with an electric two burner stove that could be used while in the slip... We tossed the pressure and electric stoves out when we bought the boat a few years ago.
The Origo works great ... we like the gimbaled cabinet setup... We keep it locked in place unless we need it to swing.
We do use the stove quite a bit... we also use our rail mounted grill a lot... but would never get rid of the stove.

Thanks for all the comments. I found the cabinet I was looking for and had it shipped to me. I am removing the old 2 burner Optimus-princess pressurized stove that works ok and using by origo 3000. Does anyone need the old stove?
