I am the original owner of a 1980 Hunter 33 (HIN33336M80I)that came equipped with a Kenyon alcohol stove/oven. Recently, upon pressurizing the tank, I noted that there was a fuel leak from the brass female 3/8" flare fitting on the feed hose at the stove check valve. Upon inspection, I found that the brass flare on the hose was split. I am looking to replace the hose and fittings (3/8" female flare on both ends) and am not having much luck locally. Unfortunately, I don't have the stove model number readily available as I write this note, but the hose is marked as follows: "The Gates Rubber Co. 4 LOLA 1/4 INCH LOCK-ON FLAME RESISTANT USMSHA NO 2G-11C MADE IN USA G 10318 Y2026". Including the fittings, the hose is about 59" long. Can anyone suggest a supplier for this fuel line? Desperately, Mitch Simmons

Hardware

As I recall from removing my stove and tand a few years ago the hose and fittings were essentialy hardware store/marine store stuff. Between fuel line from a marine store and brass fittings from the Depot or Lowes or your local Ace/True Value you should be able to piece one together. You might even be able to slice off the old hose and clamp new hose to the old fittings.

I don't think it's that simple!

Sa, A local hose supplier (hydralic's) has the capability to make up hose and fittings that will fit, but uses Parker brand components and doesn't have a Parker hose comparable to the Gates (fire resistant)...also would not accept any liability if a legal problem with Coast Guard or anyone else. Given the nature of alcohol to flare and/or burn invisibly, doesn't seem prudent to jury rig something. However, thanks for the response.

Kenyon Part #

The owner's manual for the Kenyon stove has the part number for the hose. For the model 500 stove and the 505 it is H2047-1. Have you checked with Kenyon?

Waiting for response

Ed, I sent an e-mail to Kenyon's "Customer Care" address late Friday evening, so haven't heard back from them yet. I hope they can help, but I given the age of the stove and design, I'm not banking on it. Even tho' I still have the manual for the stove (on the boat, about 100 miles from my home) I didn't think to check it when I discovered the problem. I was assuming/thinking that the hose was a third party unit, probably supplied to Hunter under contract. Thanks for the information--I'll use it with Kenyon, as I think my stove is a 505. Mitch

Found it.

If there is anyone else out there in need of parts or alcohol-to-propane conversion for older Kenyon stove/ovens, Taunton Stove Company,Inc in North Dighton, MA (http://www.tauntonstove.com)can help.

Taunton.

Interesting that you found them Mitch. I had entirely forgotten about that company. I visited their booth at Annapolis in 2001. I enquired about converting my Kenyon stove and was dissuaded. Seemed like they wanted to sell me a complete propane replacement. To this day my Kenyon stove sits in the basement.

Kenyon Replaced 23 Year old Pump

Last week, the handle pulled off the air pressurization pump on the 23 year old Kenyon stove. I called them at (860) 664-4906, and was greeted with a polite, and competent woman who knew exactly what had happened to my stove, and gave me excellent advice on making the repair, as well as sending the part required for $23. I'd be surprised if they couldn't help you as well. By the way, we are very happy with the alchohol because of its simplicity, and safety. We have a propane grill of the aft rail, where it is also quite safe, and simple! David Lady Lillie
